Harris House is an amazing place. Highly recommended
Harris House was great treatment. The staff and programming were amazing.
Best place in the world. The therapists truly care, and the entire staff is wonderful. The 28 day program is a life saver. I disagree with the way insurance companies only let some patients stay briefly as it seems silly to allow someone only a short time to beat alcoholism or drug addiction. Food is excellent, accommodations are great so go here and get clean!
Excellent recovery center and staff is very respectful to the clients . Highly recommend
Excellent treatment and recovery center for alcohol and drug addicts. 28 day in patient and sober living house.
If you need HELP, call them! (I'll 'say no more...')
Harris House provided me with all of the tools which I was unable to find anywhere else!
I would recommend the Harris House for anyone trying to stay sober. Best drug rehab I've been through. This place offered me a space i could learn an grow as an individual through counseling, classes an small groups, they gave me tools to stay sober that i have never received before. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, an always there to provide support when needed. They gave me the things I had lacked in my life so that i could stay sober. They taught me sobriety was a life style change and that I was the chooser of my destiny. I will always be grateful for the Harris House.
Amazing staff. Can't say enough about Wes and everyone else. They are the reason I am alive today
Harris House offers a variety of resources for alcoholics, addicts, and families seeking recovery. 1. STAIRS - Inpatient Program. This is the traditional 28 day treatment. The days are packed with treatment activity including group counseling, learning sessions, one-on-one, and recovery meetings. They will teach you all the different options for continuing care. 12-step programs are stressed but they offer resources on CBT and other behavioral therapy, and support groups Your counselor will work with you to develop a personalized aftercare plan tailored to your situation. All of the counselors have graduate degrees and most staff members are recovering addicts. They accept insurance and they work with self-pays on price. They contact a wonderful psychiatrist,, Dr. Gestring, who will address mental health concerns and provides suboxone or naltrexone. I would highly recommend the STAIRS program to anyone who has tried and failed to quit using on their own. 2. Sober living house - Men's and Women's It provides a structured, safe environment that allows you to live your life but have a safety net to go home to. You're allowed to leave during the day and the curfew is reasonable. You can get passes for the weekend and if you work nights they allow you to do so. There is a lot of clients who are not serious about recovery so be careful who you make best friends with. If you know somebody is using there you're not doing them, yourself, or others any favors by covering for them. The staff can only address what they're aware of. There are resources to help you find a job, get into school, and deal with wreckage from your past. You also have a counselor you meet with regularly and groups that are required weekly based on your phase level. There are many more resources available, just ask. The rent was $113/week(Aug '16) and that included meals. With all the services offered it's a really good deal. I highly recommend anyone who has the opportunity to go here to give it a chance. It gave me a solid foundation in recovery I never would've gotten otherwise. They also have the 3/4 houses you can graduate up to with more freedoms and less rent. 3. Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) These are day/night programs that offer classes for 3 hours (IOP) or 6 (PHP). They have 9am - Noon at S. BROADWAY and evening classes in West County for their IOP clients. PHP is 9am - 3pm. You're with the IOP clients until noon at which point you're in classes with STAIRS clients. It's a good alternative for people who need intense treatment but cannot do inpatient for whatever reason. With both programs you have access to most of the services offered including individual sessions with your counselor at least once a week (more if you request it). The IOP is around $200/day but is covered by most insurance. I don't know PHP prices but it's also covered by most insurance. 4. Aftercare Aftercare is for former clients of any Harris House program to meet weekly, or whenever, to stay connected and network with others who're sober. Wes Tobin, who was a client in 93 and now runs the treatment program, usually leads the group and offers thumbs ups and expletives of encouragement. It's a good way to stay close and catch yourself if you're heading off track. This is free and meets every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm. 5. 12-Step Meeting hosting. The Harris House hosts Heroin, Alcohol, and Narcotics Anonymous meetings free of charge. It's a service to their clients and the community. I will forever by grateful for the staff of the Harris House. Harris House is a non-profit and relies on donations to grow their services. To anyone who read this far I hope you find the peace and serenity I did. WE DO RECOVER! The great staff of Harris house even inspired me to go to college and pursue a career in Substance Abuse Treatment. I owe everything I have today to them.
Exceptional program. I needed a combination of general knowledge tools and therapies. They have given me what I need to begin to again live a productive, meaningful life.
The Harris House is a great facility. Wonderful staff. Each counselor is better than the next. I did not feel judged or looked down upon 1 single time during my stay there. They used my time to develop skills. Far beyond not using. I developed the ability to cope with day to day life. I would recommend the Harris House to anyone I knew who was struggling with substance abuse.
I have been a volunteer with Harris House since 2007. The HH story is truly a remarkable one that cannot be adequately covered here. It started as a flop house for drunks who needed a place to safely "sleep it off." Over the years, it transformed to a halfway house, continuing to serve the impoverished. Now it is a full-scale recovery center that treats alcoholism, drug addiction, along with accompanying mental health issues - still with the mission of serving the underserved but also others who need help. Along the journey, HH has attracted a professional Board of Directors, top counselors and staff, and has developed a high-caliber recovery program rooted in the 12 steps, counseling, and medication, as needed. HH's recovery success is very high, based on measured results. Its culture is very positive, safe, and strong. It is an outstanding organization that I would highly recommend to anyone.
The staff actually cares about it's its clients and were all not just another name on a piece of paper
The Harris house is the most amazing place to get sober. The tools they have taught me have saved me. I learned to love myself here. Staff is so comforting and understanding. It is not like a prison. You can have smoke breaks and even walk as a group to the gas station.. With supervision of course. Would recommend to anyone!!
